N2  - Es wird zunächst auf einer systemwettbewertbstheortischen Basis untersucht, inwiefern die Harmonisierung von Hochschulabschlüssen im Zuge des Bologna-Prozesses als effizient charakterisiert werden kann. Es zeigt sich, dass der Bologna-Prozess kein Instrument ist, um einen Unterbeitungswettlauf in der EU zu verhindern, sondern eher einen produktiven "race to the top"-Prozess begrenzt. Im nächsten Schritt wird überprüft, ob die Vereinheitlichung von Bildungsabschlüssen die Rekrutierung am internationalen Arbeitsmarkt wirklich erleichtern kann. Dazu wurde eine Befragung im hoch internationalen Luxemburger Finanzdienstleistungssektor durchgeführt. Es zeigt sich, dass das anglo-amerikanische Bachelor-Master-System nicht uneingeschränkt bevorzugt wird und dass die befragten Unternehmen keine deutliche Vereinfachung ihrer Personalbeschaffung durch die Vereinheitlichung von Bildungsabschlüssen erwarten.
N2  - Based on the theory of institutional competition it is analyzed if the harmonisation of educational degrees through the Bologna Process can be characterised as efficient. There is no evidence that competition in higher education might end in an cut-throat competition, so the Bologna Process can primarily be characterised as an instrument to limit an economically efficient race to the top process. In a second step, it is examined if harmonisation of educational degrees can simplify the recruiting process on an international labour market. Research subject is the highly internationalised banking and finance sector in Luxembourg. It is shown that there is no strong preference for Bachelor or Master degrees, and that firms do not really expect a simplification of their international recruiting processes.
