• Das Konzept psychologischer und philosophischer Hilfe des niederländischen Psychologen und Philosophen Jac van Essen (1908-1989) ist in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur bislang weitgehend unbekannt. Es beruht auf dem sog. Allmenschlichkeitsgedanken. Zunächst wird Theorie und Praxis der Allmenschlichkeit eingehend als eigenständiger Ansatz dargestellt. Danach werden exemplarisch diverse Konzepte psychologischer Hilfe (Freud, Jung, Adler, Kognitive Therapie, Rogers u.a.) im Licht dieses Ansatzes diskutiert. Er erweist sich als geeigneter Prüfstein dafür, inwieweit Theorie und Praxis jener Konzepte zugleich wissenschaftlich und integral humanitär befriedigen, auch in bezug auf existentielle Aspekte.
• The concept of psychological and philosophical counseling of Jac van Essen, a dutch philosopher and psychologist (1908-1989), is almost unknown in the scientific world. It is based on his idea of Allmenschlichkeit. After a comprehensive presentation of theory and practise of the idea, different concepts of psychotherapy and psychological counseling (Freud, Jung, Adler, Rogers, Cognitive therapy a.o.) are analysed in its light. As a result Jac van Essens idea of Allmenschlichkeit is evidently an excellent means to find out whether theory and practise of those concepts are satisfying concerning existential, humane as well as scientific requirements.
