• Epistemologische Überzeugungen sind Annahmen über die Struktur und Richtigkeit von Wissen sowie den Prozess des Wissenserwerbs. Der Autor stellt diesbezüglich Zusammenhänge von psychologischen und philosophischen Konzepten her und argumentiert dabei vom Standpunkt des kritischen Realismus. Außerdem werden, aufgrund empirisch gewonnener Hinweise, die Variabilität wissenschaftstheoretischer und epistemologischer Überzeugungen sowie deren Zusammenhänge zu Leistungsmotivation, Lernzielen und Lernstrategien bei Studenten beschrieben.
• Epistemological beliefs are assumptions made about the structure and the correctness of knowledge as well as the process of acquiring knowledge. Relating to this, the author joins the dots to psychological and philosophical concepts and discusses arguments from the point of view of critical realism. Furthermore, the connection between the variability of epistemological beliefs and achievement motivation, educational goals and learning strategies of university students are described with the help of empirically obtained data.
